Common questions

Ownarr says it can’t reach my server.

Use the same address you type into a browser to open Seerr, including the port if there is one (for example requests.example.com or myserver.example.com:5055). If it works at home but not on mobile data, your server isn’t reachable from the internet yet; whoever runs it can set that up with a reverse proxy and a domain name.

Which servers does Ownarr work with?

Seerr, Overseerr and Jellyseerr. Ownarr talks to them the same way their own website does.

How do I sign in?

The same way you sign in on your server’s website: with Plex, Jellyfin, Emby or a local account. If an option is missing, your server owner has turned that sign-in method off.

Why can’t I choose a quality?

Quality choices are only for server owners and people they’ve given advanced-request permission in Seerr. Everyone else requests with the server’s default quality.

How do I get notifications?

Turn on Request alerts in the Account tab. By default, Ownarr checks your server about every 15 minutes. For instant alerts, the server owner opens the Account tab and taps “Turn on instant alerts” once; after that, everyone on that server gets alerts within seconds.

Does Ownarr download anything?

No. Ownarr sends requests to your own server, and your server decides what happens next. Ownarr doesn’t provide, host or download any content.

Can I try Ownarr without a server?

Yes. On the first screen, tap “No server yet? Try the demo”. Everything works with a catalogue of public-domain films, and nothing is sent anywhere.
